Though very durable, epoxy flooring will break down eventually.
Cracks and chips will appear in your epoxy flooring. While the whole thing can last for decades (with proper care and installation) minor damages will appear.
The smoothness of epoxy floors means they’re slippery when wet. You can get textured epoxy flooring to get around this.
What’s really hard is the prep and installation for epoxy flooring. Preparation needs to be near perfect or the lifespan will drop. Application is hard, too. Humidity levels need to be low, wet epoxy smells bad, the flooring beneath it needs to be perfectly clean, and it takes days to dry. Removing it can be a pain too.
